Taiwanese smartphone maker PC hardware giant Asus will be launching a new Android-powered smartphone in India this week, the ZenFone Live. The smartphone was made official in February this year and happens to be a budget smartphone with a unique real-time beautification feature. The India launch event will be held this Wednesday, i.e. May 24th.
The ZenFone Live features a 5-inch IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and 720 x 1280 HD resolution. Powering the smartphone is a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor from Qualcomm, clocked at 1.2 GHz. The processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage. A Hybrid Dual SIM configuration allows users to expand the storage further, although only by sacrificing the SIM 2 slot.
At the rear is a 13MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture 5P lens and an LED flash. For taking selfies, the smartphone offers a 5MP shooter with large 1.4 micron pixels and a soft LED flash. As we mentioned above, the main USP of the ZenFone Live is its ability to beautify your face in real-time while live streaming to social media networks such as Facebook, YouTube, and others. For clear audio recording, Asus has equipped the ZenFone Live with dual MEMS earphones. The smartphone promises great audio output as well, thanks to a five-magnet speaker and a smart amp.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone packs a 2650mAh capacity battery, which is definitely not very impressive. On the software side of things, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the Zen UI 3.5 layer running on top.
