Microsoft unveiled a new collaborative inking app the Microsoft Whiteboard app for Windows 10 at its event in Shanghai on Tuesday. This app works with the company’s Suface devices and offers a “two-way inking for Windows 10.” The app is currently in private preview for Surface Hub devices and is expected to be available on all Surface devices by the end of this year.
The app offers features such as collaborative inking, geometry recognition, table conversion, and automatic table shading, which users in different parts of the world can use to collaborate. It also offers features such as Pencil texture and ink effects which will be available to Office 365 subscribers from next month onwards. This means that the app will also support inking in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint apps. Furthermore, Office 365 also supports low-latency and tilt options for its Surface Pen, which will allow users to make any adjustments in the thickness and texture of ink in Office apps by simply tilting the Surface Pen while using with the new Surface Pro.
