Asus Zenfone AR with 8GB RAM and Tango AR platform to launch in India soon

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus is gearing up for the launch of the Asus Zenfone AR in India soon. The firm teased the device with 8GB of RAM on Facebook suggesting that it will be launched in India in the upcoming days. The Asus Zenfone AR was launched at CES 2017 earlier this year.

The highlight of the Asus Zenfone AR is that it is the world’s second device that is compatible with both Tango AR and Google’s Daydream VR. The device also comes with a fingerprint sensor, a full metal frame and a five-magnet speaker that supports High-Res Audio and DTS virtual surround sound.


The smartphone features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 2560 × 1440 pixel resolution and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The handset is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-Core Snapdragon 821 processor with an Adreno 530 GPU and coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM. The device is available in 32GB/64GB/128GB/256GB UFS 2.0 internal storage options and also has a dedicated microSD card slot.

In terms of its camera, the Asus Zenfone AR sports a 23-megapixel rear camera which uses a Sony IMX318 sensor. It has a dual tone LED flash, F2.0 aperture, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS and Laser autofocus. At the front is an 8-megapixel camera which has F2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide viewing angle. Other important highlights include 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3300mAh battery with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.

The Asus Zenfone AR is available only in Black. We are likely to know the exact date of the device’s launch in India in the coming days.
