Samsung today launched the successor to the Galaxy Tab S2 from last year, the new Galaxy Tab S3. Announced at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, the Galaxy Tab S3 has been priced at Rs.47,990 in India. It will be available for purchase across the country starting today in Black and Silver color options. While the S-Pen comes bundled in the box, you will need to pay Rs.2,999 for the Book Cover and Rs.8,499 for the Keyboard cover accessories.
As far as the launch offers go, Samsung is only offering a one-time screen replacement within 12 months for consumers who purchase the tablet before the 31st of July. Jio customers will be eligible for the double data offer, wherein they will receive 28GB + 28GB data at just Rs.309.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 features a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2048 x 1536 QXGA resolution, making it a fantastic tablet for media consumption. It runs on the quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset from last year, clocked at 2.15 GHz. In the memory department, Galaxy Tab S3 comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory. A microSD card slot is included, so you will be able to expand the storage further by up to 256GB. The primary camera at the rear is an impressive 13MP unit, although most users will probably not capture many photos with the tablet. For video calls, the tablet gets a 5MP snapper on the front. A fingerprint sensor is present as well, embedded inside the physical home button below the display.
The variant launched in India offers a single nano SIM card slot, with support for 4G LTE networks. Other key connectivity specs include Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band MIMO, GPS with GLONASS, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. Keeping the lights on is a 6000mAh capacity battery with fast charging support. The tablet runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, with Samsung’s custom UI layer on top.
