In order to take on Reliance Jio’s revised Dhan Dhana Dhan plans, Vodafone India has launched a new first recharge coupon (FRC) for new customers. The new FRC 244 offers multiple benefits with a high validity of 70 days.
The new plan provides new customers with 1GB of 3G or 4G data per day for 70 days, matching Jio’s 309 and 399 plans. However, the FRC 244 does not provide true unlimited voice calls like Jio. Instead, customers will only be able to make unlimited voice calls to other users on the Vodafone network. While off-net voice calls aren’t free, this plan does make sense for new users who care more about data than free voice calls. However, it should be noted that the FRC 244 offers 70 days validity only for the first recharge. Second recharge onwards, the validity will reduce to 35 days.
Vodafone has also introduced a new Rs.346 plan that carries a validity of 56 days. Like the FRC 244, users can get 1GB of 3G/4G data per day under this plan. Additionally, it also offers unlimited voice calls made to any network. However, the telecom company has fixed a limited of 300 minutes per day and 1,200 minutes per week for voice calls. Vodafone subscribers who recharge the Rs.244 or Rs.346 plan using the My Vodafone app can get a cashback of five percent. The cashback will be offered to subscribers in the form of talk time.
Bharti Airtel too offers a similar plan for Rs.244, giving customers 1GB of data per day and unlimited voice calls to other Airtel numbers. Idea Cellular too has a similar plan but priced higher at Rs.297. What sets the Airtel 244 and Idea 297 plan apart from the Vodafone FRC 244 plan is that the former two are offering the plans for both existing as well as new subscribers.
