Sony debuts HT-CT290 2.1 channel soundbar in India for Rs.19,990

Sony India today expanded its home audio product line-up with a new 2.1 channel sound bar. Like the more expensive HT-CT390, the HT-CT290 features a minimalist design that is meant to perfectly complement modern living room trends. While it may not take up much space in your living room, the HT-CT290 claims to deliver powerful surround sound with 300W power output.

The HT-CT290 comprises of a compact sound bar that can be wall-mounted right below your television and a wireless subwoofer that Sony claims can deliver “rumbling lows and maximum impact from every bassline”. Thanks to a 2-way design, it can be placed in a TV cabinet or rack for seamless integration. If you have a Sony BRAVIA TV at home, you can easily sync the HT-CT290 using one touch wireless connectivity with Bluetooth. That’s not all though. You can also stream music wirelessly to the sound bar from your smartphone via Bluetooth. Smartphones, tablets and USB sticks can also be connected to the USB port available in the system. Once connected, not only will you be able to access music files stored on your device, the device will be charged at the same time.

To connect to your TV, you can use the HDMI-out port that eliminates the need for multiple cables. If your television does not support HDMI ARC, the HT-CT290 includes an optical input for enjoying high quality sound.

Priced at Rs.19,990, the Sony HT-CT290 is now available at all Sony Center and other major electronic retail stores across India. If you do not mind spending a little more, you can also check out the HT-CT390, which is available at Rs.24,990.
