Lenovo today expanded its mid-range smartphone portfolio with the introduction of the new K8 Plus. The K8 Plus joins the recently launched K8 Note under the company’s K-series range. Joining the K-series soon will be the K8, which is expected to be launched in India in the coming weeks. The Lenovo K8 Plus features a metal unibody design and comes in Venom Black and Fine Gold color options. It will go on sale starting tomorrow, exclusively via Flipkart for Rs.10,999. Launch offers include Buyback Guarantee up to Rs.5,000, 30GB additional 4G data for Jio subscribers, up to Rs.10,000 exchange bonus, and more.

The K8 Plus sports a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution display with 450 nits maximum brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. Powering the K8 Plus is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 16nm processor clocked at 2.5 GHz with a Mali-T880 GPU. For now, the smartphone is only available with 3GB of RAM, but Lenovo did say that a variant with 4GB of RAM will be closed around Diwali. In terms of storage, it includes 32GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded further by up to 128GB.

One of the key highlights of the K8 Plus is its dual-camera setup at the rear, comprising a 13MP primary sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor. The primary 13MP sensor features a Largan 5P f/2.0 aperture lens while the secondary sensor is used for depth sensing. The front-facing camera on the K8 Plus is quite impressive as well. It is an 8MP resolution sensor paired with an f/2.0 aperture 84-degree wide-angle lens and an LED flash.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, USB OTG support, and 4G VoLTE. Like other K-series handsets, the latest K8 Plus is likely to be very impressive in the battery life department. Lenovo has equipped the handset with a 4000mAh battery, on par with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and Lenovo has promised that it will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update as well.
