After silently launching the Oppo A71 a few ago in Malaysia, Oppo has now officially debuted the smartphone in India. The device has already been listed on Flipkart for Rs. 12,990, and it will be available in Black and Gold. It uses a metal unibody design, an octa-core processor, a dual-nano SIM card slot, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Oppo A71 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 282 pixels per inch. It is powered by the 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 64-bit processor, featuring the ARM Mali-T860 GPU. The smartphone packs in 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which could be expanded via a microSD card by up to 256GB.
Furthermore, on the software front, the Oppo A71 boots up Android 7.1 Nougat-based ColorOS 3.1, which offers the split-screen mode. Sadly, the device lacks a fingerprint sensor, which is available on most of the smartphones from a similar price range these days.
Moving on to the imaging department, the phone sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording. At the front, the Oppo A71 uses a 5-megapixel camera with a 1.4μm pixel size with Oppo’s beautify technology, giving more details in a selfie that’s clicked in low light conditions. Connectivity wise, the phone features dual-nano SIM card slot, 4G VoLTE support, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The whole package is fuelled by the 3,000mAh battery. The Oppo A71 measures 148.1 x 73.8 x 7.6mm and weighs 137 grams as per the company’s claims. However, as far as the competition of the Oppo A71 goes in India, it would compete with the Redmi Note 4 and the recently announced Lenovo K8 Note, which features a dual-camera setup.
