Sony today announced the launch of its first soundbar with Dolby Atmos, the new HT-ST5000. The 7.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos soundbar has been priced at Rs.1,50,990, making it the most expensive soundbar that the Japanese giant has launched so far in the country.
For those of you who aren’t aware, Dolby Atmos technology is aimed at making the surround sound experience more immersive by ensuring the sound moves around you in three-dimensional space, putting you right in the middle of the action. This makes it a major step-up compared to both stereo as well as surround sound audio. For complete audio immersion, the HT-ST5000 combines Digital Signal Processing and S-Force PRO Front Surround with wavefront technology to create a natural, 3D sound from the single soundbar and subwoofer. To enhance sound quality, Sony is using coaxial magnetic fluid speaker and a 180mm Sigma subwoofer that can deliver clearer bass. The HT-ST5000 also includes other leading Sony audio technologies such as a S-master HX – Hi-Res audio amplifier, DSEE HX digital sound enhancement engine, and more.
Now let’s talk about the key features of the soundbar. Like other soundbars offered by Sony, the new model too comes with One touch wireless listening feature, made possible with built-in Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. It also includes Chromecast built-in, making it easy for users to access music online or stream music from devices such as smartphones and tablets. Music files stored on a pen-drive can be browsed easily through the Music Center app. The app can also be used to group selected Sony Soundbars and wireless speakers together.
Apart from producing powerful and immersive surround sound output, the HT-ST5000 is also aesthetically pleasing, engineered with high-quality components inside and out. The wireless subwoofer can be placed anywhere in your living room, thanks to its compact size and simple industrial design. Connectivity wise, you get 3 HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI out with ARC, optical SPDIF, analogue AUX, and USB.
The HT-ST5000 will soon be available in Sony Centers and other major electronic retail stores across India.
