Intex launches Aqua Lions X1 and Aqua Lions X1+ “shatterproof series” smartphones


Intex has launched two new Android smartphones under what it is calling the “shatterproof series”. The new Aqua Lions X1 and Aqua Lions X1+ both feature a 5.2-inch sized 720 x 1280 HD resolution display protected by shatterproof glass on top. Even though Intex claims that the displays will not shatter, it is still offering a free one-time screen replacement within 1 year of purchase.

The two smartphones run on MediaTek’s MT6737 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, with a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. In terms of memory, the X1 packs 2GB of RAM coupled with 16GB internal storage while the X1+ features 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB built-in storage. Both models come with a dedicated microSD card slot, which will accept microSD cards up to 128GB.  Other key specs include a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, 5MP selfie camera with a soft LED flash, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE, and a 2800mAh battery. They run on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

The Intex Aqua Lions X1 and X1+ both will be available in three colors – Black, Champagne, and Blue. The Aqua Lions X1 has been priced at Rs.7,499, while the X1+ costs Rs.8,499. Jio subscribers who purchase either smartphone will receive up to 25GB of 4G data free on recharge of Rs.309 or above, up to a maximum of five transactions.
