First teased at MWC earlier this year, Lenovo’s accompanying Moto Mods for the Z series are unique, to say the least. VentureBeat reporter Evan Blass recently revealed that Motorola may soon roll out a new portable printer mod and an Amazon Alexa powered portable speaker, adding to its existing range of Moto Mods which include the moto 360 camera, the moto gamepad, the moto turbopower pack, the moto insta-share projector and more.

While the mods in question were first announced back at MWC in February, this is our first look at the Polaroid instant photo-printer mod. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer mod will let you print photos captured with your Moto Z’s camera. Although all of these mods are designed to be portable, the Insta-Share Printer mod appears bulky, going by the leaked renders of it. Details are scarce, and we currently do not have any information about technical specifications of the printer. Reports suggest that the printer mod will use Zero Ink (ZINK) technology with specialised ink imbued papers. However, there is no information available on the size of prints or on the number of photo sheets the mod could hold.

The Amazon Alexa enabled portable speaker mod, manufactured by Harman-Kardon, will let you perform several everyday tasks such as requesting Uber rides, checking the weather, or playing music using voice commands, just as on Amazon’s Echo, which works with Alexa. The Alexa enabled speaker mod shouldn’t be very different from the two JBL SoundBoost portable speaker mods already available, with the addition of Alexa voice controls. It will be interesting to see how the speaker mods compare in terms of sound quality and battery life.

Details about pricing for both the mods are unavailable at this time. Android Central has reported that the two Moto Mods are expected to be available for purchase in the coming weeks, just in time for the holidays.
