Lenovo owned Motorola earlier today officially launched its newest entrant into the mid-range segment, the Moto X4. First showcased back in August this year at IFA 2017, the Moto X4 revives the Moto X line up that the company had temporarily discontinued. In the U.S., the Moto X4 is being marketed as an Android One device which also makes it the first Android One device to be released in the United States. In India, the handset will be sold in the lower mid range segment and comes in two options – a base 3GB RAM/32GB storage version and a higher priced 4GB RAM/64GB version.
Once again, here is the spec sheet of the Moto X4 in case you haven’t read about the handset earlier.
Moto X4 Specifications
As the norm is, we start off by speaking about the display first. The Moto X4 features a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection for scratch resistance. The handset gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC for number crunching and as mentioned earlier, comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM versions. These versions also have different internal storage capacities. Thankfully, both the versions get expandable storage options. The Moto X4 also happens to be IP68 water resistant. The phone gets a 3,000 mAh battery and supports TurboPower as well – Motorola’s implementation of QuickCharge.
For imaging, the Moto X4 boasts of twin cameras at the rear – a 12-megapixel primary shooter and an 8-megapixel secondary camera. At the front, the phone gets a 16-megapixel camera with selfie flash, beauty mode and a selfie panorama mode. At launch, the Moto X4 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. In typical Motorola fashion, the phone will run a near stock version of Android and should also get an update to Android 8 Oreo in the not too distant future.
