Lenovo today launched a budget Android tablet in India, dubbed the Tab 7. The tablet offers support for 4G LTE networks and can also be used to make voice calls. In terms of software, the tablet runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box. Lenovo has promised an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo, although it hasn’t specified when the update will actually be available for users.
Lenovo Tab 7: Specifications and Features
The Lenovo Tab 7 features a 6.98-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 210 pixels per inch. Powering the Lenovo tablet is a MediaTek MT8735B/8161 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, along with a Mali-T720 GPU. The quad-core SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. For further expansion, the tablet includes a microSD card slot that will accept microSD cards up to 128GB in capacity. In the camera department, Lenovo Tab 7 comes with a 5MP primary camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. You even get an LED flash at the rear, although we don’t think most users would want to capture low-light shots with the Tab 7 camera.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, USB OTG support, and 4G LTE with voice calling. Keeping the lights on is a 3500mAh capacity battery, claimed to deliver up to 10 hours of video playback. Other key highlights include a front-facing speaker with Dolby Atmos and multi-accounts with separate space for each user. The tablet weighs in at 260 grams and measures 8.4mm thin.
Lenovo Tab 7: Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Tab 7 is now available for purchase from Flipkart for Rs.9,999. It only comes in a single color – Slate Black. There are no exciting launch offers, although Flipkart is offering a 5% additional discount for Axis Bank Buzz Credit Card holders. No-cost EMIs start from Rs.1,111 per month.
