Oppo F5 vs Nokia 7 vs Huawei Honor 7x: Price in India, Specifications and Features Compared

Phones priced between the Rs.10,000 to Rs.20,000 mark have always been an interesting category in India. This category consists of devices that are usually bought by people graduating from their first smartphone and are ready to invest a bit more money for slightly more advanced features. In this comparison article, we will take a quick look at three interesting handsets that find themselves in this price range. One of the handsets in this comparison, the Nokia 7 however, is yet to be officially launched in India. The expectation, however, is that when launched, it would be priced around the Rs.18,000 mark. The other two handsets in this list are the Oppo F5 and the recently launched Huawei Honor 7X.

To keep things fair, we will compare the lower end 4GB/32GB version of the Oppo F5 (priced at Rs. 19,990) to the top end (4GB/64GB) version of the Honor 7X (priced at Rs.15,990) and the 4GB/64GB version of the Nokia 7. As the norm is, let us start off proceedings talking about the displays used on these three devices.

Both the Oppo F5 and the Huawei Honor 7X boast of an 18:9 display that measures nearly 6-inches across. The Oppo F5 has a 6-inch display while the Honor 7X is only marginally smaller at 5.93-inches. The display resolution on both the handsets remains the same – 1080 x 2160 pixels. The Nokia 7, however, keeps things simpler with its old-school 16:9 display with full HD resolution. This display is also smaller in size, measuring just 5.2 inches across. All three handsets use an IPS LCD panel.

Under the hood, the Oppo F5 finds itself powered by a Mediatek MT6763T Helio P23 chipset. This chipset houses an octa core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. The lower priced version of the Oppo F5 gets 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also a 6GB/64GB version that is outside the purview of this comparison article. Next up is the Nokia 7 that gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Users also have the option to buy a 6GB version of the handset at a higher price. While all the handsets in this comparison get a microSD card slot, the Oppo F5 is the only one to get a dedicated microSD card slot. The other two phones get a hybrid SIM card slot.

As far as the software is concerned, the Nokia 7 takes a divergent path here when compared to the other two devices here. While all the three devices run Android 7.0 Nougat, the Nokia 7 comes with a near stock Android UI. The Honor 7X runs EMUI atop Android, while the Oppo uses its own ColorOS UI.

All three handsets also support phase detection autofocus as well. With support for 4K video recording, the Nokia 7 takes the lead as far as video recording is concerned. The other two handsets only support full HD video recording at 30fps. Moving on to the front camera, the Oppo F5 with its 20-megapixel front shooter is the clear winner here. Oppo F5 vs Nokia 7 vs Huawei Honor 7x: Price in India

Both the Oppo F5 and the Huawei Honor 7X are on sale in India right now. This, however, is not the case with the Nokia 7. While the 32GB/4GB RAM version of the Oppo F5 has been priced at Rs. 19,990 in India, you can buy the fully loaded Huawei Honor 7X for Rs.15,999.
