The Mi Mix 2 has an IPS LCD display as well and is 6 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The iPhone 6s not only falls short in terms of screen-to-body ratio but also pixel density – it offers only 326ppi as compared to the Mi Mix 2 and the OnePlus 5T which offer 402ppi each. All three forms have screen protection, with Gorilla Glass on the Android phones and the iPhone 6s which has ion-strengthened glass with oleophobic coating.
OnePlus 5T vs iPhone 6s vs Mi Mix 2: Performance
The OnePlus 5T in this comparison has 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM but is also available in an 8GB 128GB variant. The iPhone 6s comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage, but Apple also offers the phone in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models as well with no difference in RAM. The Mi Mix 2 offers 6GB and 128GB of onboard storage in India. None of the phones supports expandable memory.
The OnePlus 5T offers the latest Android experience, Oreo 8.0, to its users with its proprietary OxygenOS 4.7.2. Comparatively, the Mi MIx 2 comes with MIUI 9, which is equivalent to Android Nougat (7.0). The iPhone, of course, runs on iOS – it comes with iOS 9 out of the box but is upgradable to iOS 11.2.
The OnePlus 5T is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor (4 cores at 2.45 GHz and 4 at 1.9 GHz), as is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. The iPhone 6s comes with the Apple A9 dual-core 1.84 GHz SoC which is not at all in the same league as the new-age SD 835 processors. Graphics are handled by the PowerVR GT7600 six-core GPU on the iPhone 6s.
The 5T comes with a 3300mAh battery, almost on par with the Mi Mix 2, which has a 3400mAh cell. The iPhone comes with a 1715mAh power unit in comparison.
OnePlus 5T vs iPhone 6s vs Mi Mix 2: Camera
The OnePlus 5T is the only camera in this review with a dual camera setup – it has a 16MP+20MP pair, both of which have an aperture size of f/1.7. Comparatively, the iPhone 6s has a 12MP primary shooter with a f/2.2 aperture. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with a 12MP rear camera (f/2.0). All three rear cameras offer phase detection autofocus and dual-LED dual-tone flash, but only the Mi Mix 2 has OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). In terms of video recording, all three phones can record 2160p at 30fps, but the iPhone 6s can even record 1080p at 120fps, which is impressive. The Mi Mix 2 and the 5T can only record 720p at 120fps in comparison.
On the front, the OnePlus 5T has a 16 MP f/2.0 selfie camera, which is superior to both the iPhone’s 5 MP f/2.2 front camera and the Mix 2’s 5 MP f/2.0 camera. This makes the 5T the best option if you’re looking to buy a camera that lets you take a ton of selfies.
OnePlus 5T vs iPhone 6s vs Mi Mix 2: Verdict
In almost every aspect, the OnePlus 5T is superior to both the Mi Mix 2 and the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6s still put up a decent fight, considering its over two years old. But we would still give the second slot to the Mi Mix 2 because it fared better than the iPhone 6s as well. So unless you insist on owning an iPhone, we recommend that you go with an Android. And from these three, the OnePlus 5T is definitely the clear winner.
