Nokia 2 vs Redmi 5A vs 10.or D: Price in India, Specifications and Features Comparison


The 10.or D is the newest phone from 10.or which will make its debut on January 5, 2018. The phone will fall on the lower side of the budget category of smartphones. Considering the intense competition in this segment, we decided to compare the upcoming phone with two heavyweights so we could see which phone would offer maximum value for the price tag. We chose the Redmi 5A and the Nokia 2 to go up against the 10.or D. Let’s see which phone is the best of the three.

Nokia 2 vs Redmi 5A vs 10.or D: Price in India

The Nokia 2 was launched in October this year and is currently priced at approximately ?6700. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is also a relatively new phone from Xiaomi – it was launched this November and is currently priced at ?6,999 for its 3GB 32GB variant. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A also has a 2GB 16GB version which is priced at approximately ?4,999. The upcoming 10.or D will also be available in two variants – a 2GB 16GB version for ?4,999 and a 3GB 32GB model priced at ?5,999. We picked the higher variants of the 10.or D and Redmi 5A for this comparison because of the minimal price difference.

Nokia 2 vs Redmi 5A vs 10.or D: Display

The Nokia 2 comes with a 5-inch LTPS IPS LCD screen which offers a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 294ppi. The Redmi 5A has the exact same specs as the Nokia 2. The 10.or D offers a 5.2-inch screen and has the same resolution and aspect ratio (16:9) as the other two phones. It has a pixel density of 282ppi. The phones are matched in terms of display quality, at least on paper.

The Nokia 2 comes with an 8MP rear shooter, whereas the 10.or D comes with a 13MP camera. The Redmi 5A too has a 13 MP rear camera. On the front, all three phones come with a 5MP selfie camera. The Nokia 2 can only handle recording 720p video at 30fps, whereas the Redmi 5A and the 10.or D can manage 1080p videos at the same frame rate.

The Nokia 2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 quad-core 1.3GHz processor doing all the grunt work. Its processor doesn’t quite match up with the processor on the Redmi 5A and the 10.o D – both phones come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core 1.4GHz SoC. The Nokia 2 assigns graphics work to the Adreno 304, whereas the SD 425 processors have an Adreno 308 GPU.

The Nokia 2 offers just 8GB onboard storage as compared to the Redmi 5A and the 10.or D, which offer 32GB internal memory. All three phones support expandable memory and also come with dual-SIM capabilities. The Nokia 2 also comes with 1GB RAM whereas the other two offer 3GB RAM. All three phones are running on their respective proprietary Android forks, all equivalent to Android version 7.1 (Nougat).

In terms of battery life, however, the Nokia 2 races ahead. It comes with a 4100mAh battery which can comfortably get you through approximately two days of usage. In comparison, the Redmi 5A comes with a 3000mAh power unit and the 10.or D takes the second position with its 3500mAh cell. The 10.or D also takes the lead in this segment with a feature that neither of the other two offer – a fingerprint scanner.

The winner is definitely the 10.or D when pitted against the Nokia 2 and the Redmi 5A. The phone is also quite attractive in terms of design and aesthetics, besides offering a lot for its price. So we recommend that you hold off buying a new phone and wait for the 10.or D’s launch in a week.
