Let us start off the proceedings talking about the design and the displays of these three handsets. All the three handsets in this article feature an aluminium frame and a glass front. The Redmi 5 Plus and the Nokia 5 go one step further and also feature a full aluminium body. Moving on to the displays, both the Redmi 5 Plus and the Honor 9 Lite feature 18:9 aspect ratio displays. The Nokia 5 features a ‘normal’ full HD 16:9 aspect ratio display. The Redmi 5 Plus wins the display size contest here thanks to its large 5.99-inch display. The Redmi 5 Plus has the largest battery capacity among the three thanks to its large 4,000 mAh battery. The other two handsets feature a 3,000 mAh battery.

Let us now take a look at the comparative camera specs of these three handsets, The Redmi 5 Plus comes with a 12-megapixel f/2.2, 1.25 μm camera at the rear with support for phase detection autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash. This unit also supports full HD video recording. At the front, the handset uses a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies.

The Honor 9 Lite is the only handset in this list to feature a dual camera set up. This handset gets a dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera unit with support for phase detection autofocus and  LED flash. The phone also features a dual camera set up at the front with the same resolution. The Honor 9 Lite can also capture full HD videos from both the cameras at 30 fps.

The Nokia 5 gets a 13-megapixel single camera unit at the rear with support for phase detection autofocus. The handset also gets dual-LED dual-tone flash for low light imaging. At the front, the Nokia 5 gets an 8-megapixel unit. The handset also supports full Hd video recording.

As already mentioned at the beginning of this article, only the Nokia 5 is currently officially available in India as of now. The Nokia is priced at Rs.13,499 for the 3GB+16GB version which in our opinion is too overpriced for a handset of its class. The Honor 9 Lite and the Redmi 5 Plus has the definite edge at this point just because of their superior spec sheet. We will, however, need to wait for both Xiaomi and Honor to announce the final pricing for these handsets in India before we can recommend either of these devices to you.
