Dell wasn’t the only PC manufacturer to showcase a new 2-in-1 notebook with Intel’s latest Kaby Lake-G processor at CES 2018. HP introduced its Spectre x360 15 at the trade show in Las Vegas, a powerful convertible notebook with a 4K resolution display.
HP Spectre x360 15: Price, Availability
The HP Spectre x360 15 will go on sale in the US and other major markets around the world starting March 2018. It will start at $1,370 (Rs.87,350 approx.) for the NVIDIA version and $1,500 (Rs.95,600 approx.) for the AMD version. Both versions will ship with the standard HP pen in the box, while for the enhanced pen you will need to shell out $90 (Rs.5,700) more.
HP Spectre x360 15: Features, Specifications
The HP Spectre x360 15 is very similar to the 13-inch model in terms of overall design, so there isn’t anything new in the design department. Featuring an all-aluminum chassis, the notebook comes in Dark Ash Silver and Copper Luxe accent color scheme. Unlike the new Dell XPS 15 2-in-1, HP isn’t offering a choice of panels with its 15-inch 2-in-1. The Spectre x360 15 comes standard with a 15.6-inch 3840 x 2160 4K Ultra HD IPS touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Thanks to the special hinges, you can flip it into a tablet and use the bundled HP Pen or the optional enhanced pen to jot down notes, draw, and more. Other key highlights include a fingerprint scanner, Infrared facial recognition for Windows Hello, a full-size backlit keyboard, four speakers, and up to 13 hours of battery life.
HP is offering the Spectre x360 15 in two configurations. The first one is powered by an Intel Core i7-8705G processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics. If you aren’t interested in a 2-in-1 with a 65W chip, you can go for the second configuration that pairs a more efficient but less powerful U-series Core i7 8550U quad-core processor with discrete NVIDIA MX150 graphics. Both configurations come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage. Connectivity wise, the Spectre x360 15 includes 1x USB 3.0 Type-A, 2x USB 3.1 Type-C, 1x Thunderbolt (NVIDIA model only), 2x Thunderbolt (AMD model), an HDMI output, SD card reader, and a 3.5mm combo headphone/microphone jack.
