Starting from last week, Honor has been teasing the launch of its four-camera smartphone. Without any doubt, the device that was being teased is the Honor 9 Lite, and its launch in India is expected to happen by the end of this month. Ahead than the launch, Flipkart has teased the handset as well, claiming that it is the exclusive partner for selling the Honor 9 Lite. For the time being, there’s no hint of pricing and the exact launch date, but we expect Honor to reveal more details in the next few days. We expect the phone to retail around for around Rs.17000, given that Honor 9i is priced around the same.
Speaking about the specifications of the Honor 9 Lite, it has a glass-and-metal unibody design and runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box. The smartphone features a 5.65-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution (1080×2160 pixels) and 18:9 aspect ratio. Inside, it uses the Kirin 659 chipset with a 2.36GHz octa-core CPU, and the phone comes in two variants. The base model packs in 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage, while the higher-end model has 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It also offers a rear-mounted fingerprint reader.
As far as its imaging capabilities go, there are two cameras at the front and two cameras at its rear. The rear-facing camera consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with phase-detection autofocus and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the other hand, at the front, there’s the same combination of a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera for handling selfies and video calling. The phone’s connectivity options include a dual-SIM car slot with 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio port. The Honor 9 Lite comes packed with a 3000mAh battery, which can last up to for 20 hours of talk time on 3G, and a standby time of up to 24 days.
