Nokia 8

HMD Global today started rolling out the stable Android 8.1 Oreo update for the company’s flagship Nokia 8 smartphone. The stable update arrives less than a month after the company began rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo beta update for the smartphone. The latest OTA arrives as firmware version V4.84A and weighs in at 1.5GB in terms of size. In addition to the core Android 8.1 Oreo features, the update also includes the February security patch update. Key changes included with the stable Android 8.1 Oreo OTA include battery saving navigation buttons, revamped power menu, new setting menu, Bluetooth battery percentage, and the usual improvements as well as bug fixes. It will take a few days for the update to become available for most users, so there is no need to panic if you haven’t received an update notification on your device.

Huawei P20 and P20 Plus spotted on TENAA website

Huawei’s upcoming P-series flagship smartphones, the P20 and P20 Plus were spotted on the TENAA website today, exactly six weeks before their official unveiling in Paris. As confirmed by the company recently, the P20 and P20 Plus will not be making their official at MWC 2018 in Barcelona but at a separate event in France on March 27th. Unfortunately, TENAA hasn’t put up images or specifications of the two smartphones on its website just yet. So we may need to wait a few more days for the confirmed specifications of the two smartphones. While we do know that the two smartphones will be powered by Huawei’s in-house developed Kirin 970 SoC under the hood, doubts still remain over the device’s exact display sizes and resolution. One of the key selling points of the two smartphones will be a triple-camera setup at the back, which would make them the world’s first flagship smartphones with triple cameras at the back.

LG today announced that it will be introducing a refreshed version of the V30 at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The V30 2018 will come with the company’s new Vision AI technology that will deliver a superior camera experience as well as improved voice recognition. Vision AI will automatically analyze objects in a scene and recommend the best shooting mode to users, similar to what we have seen in Huawei’s Mate 10 series. To fine tune the feature, LG had apparently collaborated with a partner in image recognition to analyze over a 100 million images. In addition to the camera-specific features, the V30 2018 will also come with Voice AI feature that will allow users to open apps or change settings through voice commands alone.
