Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 5 at an event in New Delhi, yesterday. The company also took wraps off the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 in India. This is the first time when Xiaomi introduced its TV in the Indian market, which will be directly competing against the likes of LG, Samsung, TCL, and more in India. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5: Price in India, Availability, Offers

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant and Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. It is available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold color options. The device will go on an exclusive sale on Flipkart from February 22. It will also be available on Mi Home, and For the buyers who prefer offline buying, the device will soon go on sale via Xiaomi’s offline partners.

As a part of the introductory offer, the Redmi Note 5 comes paired with an ultra-slim case bundled. Jio is offering a cashback of Rs. 2,200 and 100 percent additional data for the Redmi Note 5 buyers.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5: Specifications and Features

The Redmi Note 5 features a 5.99-inch full-HD display clubbed with 18:9 aspect ratio, 450-nit brightness, and 2.5D curved glass bearing 1080×2160 pixels resolution. It runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat out-of-the-box. It’s worth noting that the Redmi Note 5 is the Indian variant of the Redmi 5 Plus that was launched in China, back in December last year.

The smartphone comes powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC clubbed Adreno 506 GPU, and 3GB RAM/4GB RAM, depending on the variant. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear panel.

Regarding camera specs, the Redmi Note 5 sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash. On the front, it bears a 5MP selfie snapper with Beautify 3.0 and LED selfie-light. There are two storage variants of the device – 32GB and 64GB that can be further expanded via microSD card.

Connectivity options supported by the Redmi Note 5 include Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. A 4000mAh battery backs the device with fast charging.
