Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to unveil its latest G-series Android smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona next week. While the company is yet to confirm anything officially, rumors suggest we may see the Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play go official at the upcoming event, alongside the standard Moto G6. In this post, we will tell you about all the Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play-related leaks that have surfaced online so far, which should give you a decent idea of what to expect from the upcoming Moto smartphones.

Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play: Design & Display

While early rumors had hinted at the possibility of the Moto G6 series closely resembling the Moto G5 series in the design language, leaked renders of the three Moto G6 smartphones have made it quite clear that it wouldn’t actually be the case. The Moto G6 Plus is expected to feature a 5.93-inch display with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, will come with a smaller 5.7-inch sized display with HD resolution. In terms of build, all Moto G6 smartphones will feature a metal-and-glass construction instead of the metal unibody build seen in the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones from last year.

Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play: Cameras

Like most new budget and lower mid-range smartphones out there, the upcoming Moto G6 Plus is going to feature a dual-camera setup at the rear. According to the latest rumors, the Moto G6 Plus will come equipped with a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor at the back. For selfies, the smartphone will offer a 16MP snapper on the front. As for the Moto G6 Play, rumors suggest the smartphone will feature a single camera both at the rear as well as the front.

Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play: Key Hardware Specifications

Under the hood, Moto G6 Plus is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core chipset. The same chip also powers Motorola’s mid-range Moto X4 smartphone. In terms of memory, the upcoming smartphone is expected to be offered in three variants with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB of RAM coupled with 32GB and 64GB internal storage. Moving on to the battery, Moto G6 Plus is rumored to have a 3200mAh battery, which should be able to deliver decent battery life.

Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. There is no word yet regarding the handset’s memory specifications but we do know that it will pack a large 4000mAh capacity battery inside.

Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play: Rumored Pricing and Availability

The Moto G6 Plus is rumored to be priced at $330 at launch, which converts to roughly Rs.21,400 based on the ongoing exchange rate. While the Moto G6 Play pricing hasn’t been tipped yet, we do expect it to be priced much lower. As for availability, the two smartphones might start rolling out globally by next month.
