Nokia’s revival in the hands of HMD Global has been nothing less than a dream comeback for the brand that ruled the tech world for quite sometime before Apple and Samsung dominated the landscape. The HMD Global launched Android-powered Nokia smartphones, offering pure Android experience without any customized UI on top. The brand image started doing even better when Nokia phones began receiving security updates on the same timeline as Google announced them for its Nexus and Pixel phones.

Today, we decided to compare three Nokia phones that are yet to launch in India and have been keeping the fans waiting for the official announcement. The Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 (2018) have already been launched in China so we already have their confirmed specifications, as for the Nokia 7 Plus, we will be comparing it on the basis of leaked specs and features.

Nokia 7 vs Nokia 6 (2018) vs Nokia 7 Plus: Price in India

As the devices are yet to debut officially, we are comparing their rumoured prices. The Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 (2018) are expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona for the global sale. The Nokia 7 Plus could come with a price tag of Rs. 19,999 while the Nokia 7 might retail at Rs. 17,900. As for the Nokia 6 (2018), it is tipped to carry a price tag of Rs. 17,999.

The Nokia 7 Plus is rumored to sport a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels at 402ppi while the Nokia 7 comes with a 5.2-inch FHD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. On the other hand, the Nokia 6 (2018) features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080×1920 and a pixel density of 403ppi. The major difference lies in the aspect ratio, where the Nokia 7 duo is expected to boast 18:9 aspect ratio while the Nokia 6 (2018) makes do with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The Nokia 7 comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset clubbed with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. Whereas, the Nokia 7 Plus may come powered by a Snapdragon 660 octa-core (4×2.2GHz and 4×1.8GHz) chipset with Adreno 512 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Storage on both the phones is expected to support up to 256GB microSD card. On the contrary, the Nokia 6 (2018) comes powered by a 2.2GHzSnapdragon 630 octa-core chipset paired with Adreno 512 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Software-wise, the Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 (2018) run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and will soon be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. The Nokia 7 Plus may also run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and then be upgraded to Oreo along with the Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 (2018).

In the imaging department, the Nokia 7 sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, 1.12µm pixel size, and 4K video recording. On the front, it bears a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, and support for 1080p full HD video recording.

The Nokia 7 Plus, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 12MP+13MP dual rear camera setup that is in trend on mid-range devices. It may feature a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. The Nokia 6 (2018) boasts a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), dual-tone LED flash, and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front with f/2.0 aperture.

The worth of a smartphone also depends on its battery capacity. No matter how advanced the specs are, if the battery capacity is low, then the device won’t be able to sustain for long. The Nokia 7 is backed by a 3000mAh with 18W fast charging while the Nokia 7 Plus is expected to pack in a 3300mAh battery with fast charging. While the Nokia 6 (2018) is backed by a 3000mAh battery but without support for fast charging.

After comparing all the specs, the Nokia 7 Plus seems to be the better in the lot, however, its specifications are not yet confirmed. There are fair chances that the device may ship with different specs. The Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 (2018) are currently limited to China and will soon be made official for global selling.
