With an aim to stay ahead of their rivals, three leading Indian telcos recently announced cashback offers on new 4G smartphone purchases. Reliance Jio, Idea Cellular, and Airtel are mainly targeting users upgrading to a new 4G smartphone as well as first-time smartphone buyers with these cashback offers. While Idea Cellular and Airtel are offering cashback of up to Rs.2,000, Reliance Jio is trying to lure customers by offering “instant cashback” of Rs.2,200 on new 4G smartphones.

Idea: Rs.2,000 Cashback Offer on 4G Smartphones

Idea Cellular is offering its subscribers a cashback of up to Rs.2,000 on new 4G smartphones appearing first time on the telco’s network between 23rd February to 30th April 2018. To be eligible for the cashback offer, you will need to do the first recharge of Rs.199 or higher value within 30 days of the smartphone’s activation on Idea network. The cashback will be provided to users in two installments – the first installment of Rs.750 at the end of first 18 months and the second installment of Rs.1,250 at the end of 36 months. However, in order to receive the two installments of cashback, there are some requirements that need to be met

Conditions for First Instalment of Cashback

Idea subscribers are required to do a recharge at least once a month with Rs.199 denomination and above for 18 months. However, if you recharge with longer validity recharge packs such as Rs.392, 398, 449, 459, and 509, you need not recharge every month with Rs.199. You will only need to make sure that the minimum recharge value (cumulative) over the period of 18 months should be Rs.3,000.

Condition for Second Instalment of Cashback

Idea subscribers who will qualify for the first installment of Rs.750 will qualify for the second installment of Rs.1,250. It should be noted that Idea will give you the second installment even if you switch to a different device after 18 months. For the first 18 months, however, it is required that you use the same device to be eligible for the cashback. It is required that customers recharge their mobile number at least once a month with Rs.199 denomination or above for the next 18 months. If you opt for a higher validity plan, you will not have to do a recharge each month. However, you will have to make sure that the cumulative value of all recharges during the 18 month period should at least be Rs.3,000.

Jio: Rs.2,200 Cashback Under Football Offer

Reliance Jio is currently running a Football Offer, under which it is offering Rs.2,200 cashback for new smartphones activated on its network until March 31, 2018. The Jio Football Offer is available on new 4G smartphones from Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Micromax, Huawei, LYF, Nokia, Asus, BlackBerry, Panasonic, LG, Intex, and more. The cashback will be credited to subscribers in the form of 44 cashback vouchers of Rs.50 each in the My Jio app upon performing a recharge of Rs.198 or Rs.299 plan for both new and existing Jio customers.

Airtel: Rs.2,000 Cashback Offer on Nokia 4G Smartphones

Unlike Idea Cellular and Reliance Jio, Airtel is currently offering a cashback offer only on select Nokia 4G smartphones. The Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 smartphones, which are currently on sale for Rs.6,999 and Rs.9,499, respectively, are eligible for Airtel’s Rs.2,000 cashback offer. To go with the cashback offer, Airtel has introduced a Rs.169 recharge plan for the two smartphones with 1GB data per day along with unlimited local and STD voice calls as well as 100 free SMSes per day. The validity of the plan is 28 days. Similar to Idea, Airtel will be offering the cashback in two installments, the first at the end of 18 months and the second at the end of 36 months. To be eligible for the first installment of cashback worth Rs.500, you will need to make sure the minimum cumulative value of all recharges in the first 18 months should be Rs.3,500. For the second installment of cashback worth Rs.1,500, you will need to recharge your number with a minimum cumulative value of Rs.3,500 for the next 18 months.
