The Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has today announced that it will be unveiling its new smartphone, the OPPO F7, in India on March 26, 2018. The company made this announcement via a tweet from OPPO India’s official Twitter handle. However, the tweet was deleted at a later stage. Later, the company tweeted the teaser once again, but this time without a launch date. Nonetheless, the phone will make its way to Indian shores on March 26. The OPPO F7 will have an iPhone X-style screen notch, a trend which started earlier this year. Let’s see what more the handset has to offer.Going by the details of the phone revealed by The Economic Timesthe OPPO F7 will succeed the OPPO F5, and will sport a 6.2-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The display is supposed to have a screen-to-body ratio of 89.09%. However, information about the rest of the phone’s hardware is a mystery as of now. You can expect the phone to be driven by an octa-core MediaTek processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There are also chances of the new phone running Android 7.1 Nougat-based ColorOS, and we’re expecting this because there’s no Android 8.0 Oreo running phone from OPPO.

Moving onto imaging aspect of the OPPO F7, it is assumed to feature a 25-megapixel selfie camera. Needless to say, the company will not miss using its A.I-powered beautification features in the camera app for improved selfies. Sources had revealed that the smartphone will have an improved real-time HDR feature, an enhanced beauty mode, and AR stickers which will be helpful in using the front-facing camera. There’s no doubt that the handset will feature a 3.5mm audio port, and will come in Red colour variant, going by the revealed teased by the company. We will need to know the official pricing of the phone before we can comment on whether it can compete with other phones in the market.
