The Redmi 5 is launching in India tomorrow at 3 PM. Xiaomi has collaborated with Amazon.in for the phone’s online sales, which means that the Redmi 5 will be exclusively up for sale on Amazon India. The phone features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD HD+ screen with 720×1440 pixels resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top to provide scratch resistance. Regarding design, the Redmi 5 boasts metal rear panel and glass front panel with plastic framing on the sides.
It comes powered by an octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU and a 4G LTE modem. For optics, the Redmi 5 packs a 12MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus, ƒ/2.2 aperture, LED flash, HDR, and support for Full HD 1080p video recording. Xiaomi Redmi 5: Price in India, Availability
The Redmi 5 will go official on March 14, tomorrow at 3PM and only then we will get to know its pricing for India. However, going by how Xiaomi priced the previous versions of the device, we can expect the Redmi 5 to be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. If that turns out to be a right guess, then the Redmi 5 will be rivaling a slew of smartphones in the same price segment including the Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note 5 that comes with better specs at Rs. 10,000.
As we mentioned in the starting of this post, the Redmi 5 will be exclusively up for sale via Amazon.in. For now, we don’t know whether Xiaomi will again choose the flash sale model for selling the smartphone online or stick to regular selling method that does not annoy potential buyers who lose on buying the device because of the flash sale model that results in product going out-of-stock within seconds.
Stay tuned with us to know the pricing and availability of the Redmi 5 in India when it goes official tomorrow at 3PM.
