Xiaomi is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone, the Mi MIX 2S, on March 27, 2018 in China. The company had already started teasing key features of the phone over the past one week via social networking website Weibo. It has confirmed the existence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset inside the upcoming phone, and even revealed its AnTuTu score. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has teased wireless charging capabilities of the Mi MIX 2S. It will be the first smartphone from Xiaomi to feature wireless charging.

Mi MIX 2s: Expected Features, Specs

Considering what we know so far about the Mi MIX 2S from the rumours, it will have a taller, 5.99-inch screen with a notch at its top. The leaked video had also revealed that the notch will not be in a central position like the iPhone X. Instead, it will be placed at the top-right corner of the phone’s screen. The MIX 2s will also use Qualcomm’s best-in-class chipset right now, the Snapdragon 845, and will feature 6GB or 8GB of RAM for effortless multitasking. It is believed that the 8GB RAM variant of the Mi MIX 2s will have 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There will be no option to expand the storage further using a microSD card, though.

The upcoming bezel-less screen phone will come pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI 9 or MIUI 10 operating system. As far as its imaging capabilities are concerned, the phone is expected to offer a dual-12MP camera setup at its rear. One of the rear sensors is supposed to be the Sony IMX363, featuring PDAF, OIS, and 4K video recording. Since it will be a first dual-camera equipped MIX series smartphone, it will also be the first to offer an ability to capture images with background blur. Moreover, as per the new teaser, the smartphone will also have artificial intelligence (AI) supported camera for good image quality.

The Mi MIX 2s will also feature  4G LTE connectivity, wireless charging, and a rear-facing fingerprint reader. Although other information about the phone such as its rear camera resolution, battery capacity, and battery capacity remain a mystery for now, we are quite sure that the information will be revealed before the launch through TENAA and GFXBench databases. The phone will compete with the likes of the OnePlus 6, Nokia 9, Samsung Galaxy S9, Huawei Mate 10/Mate 10 Pro, and the Apple iPhone X.
