Alcatel has announced the 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) for the Indian market, less than a month after its formal debut at MWC 2018 last month. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition), an optimized version of Oreo designed specifically for entry-level smartphones.

Alcatel has only revealed that the 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone will be going on sale in India soon. More specific details regarding pricing and availability of the entry-level smartphone will be shared closer to the actual launch in India.

Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition): Features and Specifications

The Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone was first announced at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona last month. It sports a 5.34-inch display with 480 x 960 resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.28 GHz with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU. In terms of memory, the handset includes 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. For further expansion up to 128GB, the Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) includes a dedicated microSD card slot.


The Alcatel 1X Android Oreo (Go Edition) is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, while on the front is an 8MP sensor with an LED flash. Connectivity wise, the entry-level Android smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, USB OTG, and 4G VoLTE. Like many other entry-level Android smartphones, Alcatel’s offering doesn’t pack a large battery inside. It is backed by a 2460mAh capacity battery. Moving on to dimensions, the smartphone measures 147.5 x 70.6 x 9.15mm and weighs in at 151 grams.
