Fitbit Versa features everything you want in an ‘all in one’ smartwatch and has been announced in India

When it comes to smartwatches, Apple reigns supreme. However, the new smartwatch from Fitbit that was announced earlier today might end up being a sweet spot for many consumers. The Fitbit Versa offers more accurate fitness tracking and some smartwatch-like features at an affordable price.

The Fitbit Versa features a 1.34-inch touchscreen LCD panel and more than four days of battery life on a single charge, which will certainly make most users happy. It will compete with the Apple Watch 3, Samsung Gear Sport, and some Android Wear smartwatches. Let’s have a look at all its features and pricing.

Fitbit Versa: Features, Specifications

The Fitbit Versa sports a 1.34-inch square-shaped colour LCD touchscreen display with up to 1,000 nits brightness, which is plenty bright for even harsh sunlight conditions. It is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones. The wearable is water-resistant up to 50 metres, so you can take it for swimming as well.

Thanks to the Versa’s array of sensors, which include 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyrometer, an optical heart rate monitor, altimeter, and an SpO2 sensor, the smartwatch is claimed to be pretty great at fitness and activity tracking. Fitbit has equipped it with more than 15 exercise modes. It can track your sleep, too, something that’s missing from the Apple Watch. The Fitbit Versa Special Edition will feature Fitbit Pay for mobile payments.

The company claims that the Versa’s heart rate monitor can offer more accurate readings even during strenuous activities like cycling and running. Fitbit has also added female health tracking in its new smartphone app, so women can log periods and track their cycles & gauge ovulation. This is something female users have been asking Fitbit since a long time. There’s a vibration motor for haptic feedback.

The Versa comes with 2.5GB of onboard storage that can be used to store offline music, and play it by connecting it to Bluetooth headphones. Connectivity features on the Fitbit Versa include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. It can take location information from a connected phone’s GPS. Thanks to its 134mAh battery, the watch can last up to four days on a single charge, which is pretty great.
