Samsung rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ smartphones in four phases, and later released the stable update for the devices a few weeks ago. However, it didn’t bring any such beta update programme for the Galaxy Note 8, leaving users with a question as to when they will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
Well, it now appears as if Galaxy Note 8 users don’t have to wait long for the update as Samsung has started rolling it out now. Some Galaxy Note 8 users in France have started getting pop-up notifications for the Oreo update.
Galaxy Note 8 Android 8.0 Oreo Update
A new Galaxy Note 8 update with firmware version N950FXXU3CRC1 brings Android 8.0 Oreo with March 2018 security patch. To recall, the Galaxy Note 8 had passed the WFA alliance running Android 8.0 Oreo last month. Additionally, Samsung’s websites for Turkey and Canada had released the timeframe for Android 8.0 Oreo rollout, and it also contained information about the company’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 8. As per the information on those websites, the smartphone was supposed to receive the update starting on March 30th, 2018. However, the Galaxy Note 8 has started receiving the update already.
For now, we can only expect the same changes to Android 8.0 Oreo that were released for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. This means that users will get to use Samsung Experience 9.0 software along with notable changes that Google introduced with Android 8.0 Oreo, including the Picture-in-Picture mode, app shortcuts, notifications channels, notification dots, faster boot-up time, tweaks for the home screen and much more. Currently, there are no details as to when this new update will start rolling out in other countries, including India.
We recommend you to keep an eye on the notifications to see if you receive a pop-up for the Android 8.0 Oreo-based Experience 9.0 update for your Galaxy Note 8.
