
The Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) and the Honor 7C are expected to launch in India soon. Both the devices are entry-level smartphones; they will compete directly with the Nokia 6, and here is a quick comparison of the three smartphones.
Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) vs Honor 7C vs Nokia 6: Price in India
The Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) hasn’t been launched in India, and the same goes with the Honor 7C. Hence, the exact pricing of both the devices is not known yet. However, we are expecting the Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) to be priced at Rs. 15,999, whereas the Honor 7C is expected to be priced at Rs. 12,999. Although, nothing can be confirmed at the moment. The Nokia 6 has already been launched in India, and it costs Rs. 13,999.
Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) vs Honor 7C vs Nokia 6: Display and camera
The Asus Zenfone 5 has a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with bezel-less design and Full HD+ resolution. Surprisingly, the display of the Zenfone 5 has Gorilla Glass protection and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. The Honor 7C also has a bezel-less display, but the size is 5.99-inches. Unlike the Zenfone 5, the Honor 7C’s display does not has Gorilla Glass protection, and the 95% DCI-P3 coverage. The display of the Nokia 6 is quite outdated, and it lacks behind the other two smartphones, as it does not feature a bezel-less display.
The Asus Zenfone 5 has a 12MP + 8MP dual-camera setup on the back. The camera is aided by phase-detection autofocus, dual-tone dual-LED flash, and EIS. Interestingly, the Zenfone 5 in spite of being an entry-level smartphone, has 4K video recording capability. The Honor 7C also has a dual-camera setup on the back. Although, it has a lower resolution of 13MP + 2MP. The primary camera of the Honor 7C is mated to phase-detection autofocus and an LED flash. The Nokia 6 is the only smartphone in the comparison to not have a dual-camera setup for the primary camera; it comes with a 16MP shooter aided by phase-detection autofocus and an LED flash.
Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) vs Honor 7C vs Nokia 6: Performance and battery
The Asus Zenfone 5 has the most powerful processor of the lot; the Snapdragon 636. The Snapdragon 636 SoC is the same SoC that resides inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The device will most probably come in two storage variants, one with 32GB storage and 4GB of RAM, and another with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM. The Zenfone 5 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo OS customised with ZenUI 5.0.
The Honor 7C has Snapdragon 450 SoC mated to either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM variant will have 32GB of storage, and the 4GB RAM variant will have 64GB of storage. The device also comes with Android 8.0 Oreo OS customised with EMUI 8. The Nokia 6 houses the least powerful SoC of the lot, the Snapdragon 430. The chipset is mated to either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Unlike the Asus Zenfone 5 and the Honor 7C, the Nokia 6 doesn’t come with Android 8.0 Oreo OS out-of-the-box. However, Nokia has confirmed that the Nokia 6 will get Android 8.0 Oreo OS update soon.
The Asus Zenfone 5 has a 3300mAh battery along with 10W fast charging. The Honor 7C and the Nokia 6 come with a 3000mAh battery. Unfortunately, the Honor 7C and the Nokia 6 do not support the fast charging.
Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) vs Honor 7C vs Nokia 6: Verdict
The Asus Zenfone 5 (2018) is clearly a better device among the three, in terms of display, camera, performance, and battery backup. However, in order for the Zenfone 5 (2018) to outsell the other two devices, Asus has to price the device competitively.
