Motorola Moto G6 Play, G6 Plus, G6, E5 Play, E5 International Launch could happen only after South East Asia Launch


Moto G5 and Moto E5 have been appearing on the rumour mill for quite some time. The upcoming devices have also surfaced on the internet in the form of several leaks and renders.

Moto G6, G6 Play, G6 Plus, Moto E5, E5 Play: Launch

The latest report about the Lenovo-owned Motorola’s upcoming smartphones states that they will most likely be debuting in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The Moto G6 lineup has already made an appearance on certification agencies in the said countries. While the Moto G6 Play was spotted on SIRIM’s website indicating that it is ready to launch in the South Asian markets first.

Previous reports regarding the certification of the Moto G6 and Moto E5 phones stated that the Moto G6 may come with a model number XT1925-7, Moto G6 Plus with XT1926-5, and the Moto G6 Play with the model number XT1922-1. While the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Play could come with model numbers XT1924-3 and XT1944-6, respectively.

Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus: Rumoured Specifications and Features

The Moto G6 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display bearing 1440×720 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It may come powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor and sports 12MP+5MP dual camera setup on the rear. A 3000mAh battery is tipped to back the device.

On the other hand, the Moto G6 Plus is expected to feature a 5.93-inch FHD+ display with 4GB RAM/6GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. It is supposed to be backed by a 3250mAh battery. While the Moto G6 Play, which is dubbed as a lighter version of the Moto G6, is expected to come with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with 1440×720 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. It could come powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC clubbed with 3GB RAM/4GB RAM with 32GB/64GB storage, depending on the variant. Unlike the Moto G6, the Moto G6 Play will have a single rear camera with 16MP sensor and a front camera with a 16MP sensor. A 4000mAh battery is expected to back the device. On the software front, the entire Moto G6 lineup is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Furthermore, the Moto G6 lineup is also tipped to launch in Gold, White, Blue, Silver, and Cyan colour variants. The launch date for the devices is still unknown, but we now know that India is not among the first markets to have it.

Moto E5 and Moto E5 Play: Rumoured Specifications and Features

The new phones in Motorola’s E lineup are expected to be the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Play. The Moto E5 Play is rumoured to launch in two variants with different SoCs, the first variant could feature Snapdragon 430 chipset while the other could settle for MediaTek MT675X SoC. On the camera front, the Moto E5 is expected to sport a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter while the Moto E5 Play is tipped to come with a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter.

Regarding display and other specs, the Moto E5 might feature a 5.5-inch display with 1280×720 pixels resolution, 3GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and a 3028mAh battery. The Moto E5 Play, on the other hand, may bear a 5.2-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a 4000mAh battery.

Other than the Moto E5 and Moto E5 Play, there is another device that is rumoured to be a part of the lineup, the Moto E5 Plus. The Moto E5 did not appear in the certification, but it is expected to come out at the launch. The phone may come with a 5.8-inch HD+ display bearing 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It could sport a 16MP+8MP dual rear camera setup clubbed with f/1.75 aperture and f/2.0 aperture, respectively for each sensor.

As is the case with rumours, leaks, and certifications, nothing can be tagged as reliable. We must take all the details presented above with a grain of salt.
