The Vivo V9 sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the iPhone X style notch on the top. Running under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, a small upgrade over the Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor powering the V7. The octa-core processor is clocked at a high 2.2 GHz and features an Adreno 506 GPU. Moving on to memory, the Vivo V9 is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For further expansion up to 256GB, the smartphone includes a dedicated microSD card slot in addition to two nano-SIM card slots.

The vertical dual-camera setup on the back of the handset utilizes a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. In terms of video, the Vivo V9 primary camera can capture 4K video at 30fps along with Full HD video at 30fps. On the front of the V9 is a 24MP resolution selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture lens, a soft LED flash, and Full HD video capture support.

Connectivity options supported by the Vivo V9 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. Vivo V9: Features

The key highlight of the new Vivo V9 is undoubtedly the large 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS FullView 2.0 screen with 1.75mm thin bezels. Similar to the iPhone X, the Vivo V9 display has a notch on the top, which results in an aspect ratio of 19:9 instead of 18:9 aspect ratio on the Vivo V7. The screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone is an impressive 90%, higher than most other mid-range smartphones on the market today.

At the back is a 16MP + 5MP vertical dual-camera setup with 4K video recording, Ultra HDR mode, and bokeh mode with Shot Refocus feature. The 24MP resolution selfie camera comes with A.I. face beauty feature to help users take perfect selfies by using a self-learning algorithm, raise to wake, along with Face Access 2.0. In addition to unlocking the phone, Face Access 2.0 on the V9 can also be used to unlock apps. Vivo claims the AI Face Access technology employed in the V9 is more secure than previous implementations as it can detect light-reflected surfaces and subtle facial movements, making it impossible to unlock the phone using photos or video. The V9 also supports the ability to add stickers to images with the AR Stickers feature that is claimed to have been optimized specifically for the Indian market.

The Vivo V9 comes with an updated Game Mode that allows users to block all messages, calls, and alerts from disturbing them while gaming. You can also choose to allow phone calls only from select contacts. Chatting with your friends while playing a game is also possible, thanks to the “Gaming Keyboard” and picture-in-picture for games features.
