As promised, Vivo today formally launched the V9 for the Indian market. The Vivo V9 is the first Android smartphone to arrive in India with an iPhone X style notch on the top. In the coming weeks, we expect more such Android smartphones to be launched in the country. On March 26, Vivo’s sister brand OPPO will be launching the F7, which sports a similar notch on the top. Samsung has also launched a new Android smartphone in India, albeit without any fanfare whatsoever. The new smartphone has been dubbed the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 and sports a 13MP selfie snapper on the front. In other news, an alleged spec sheet revealing the key specs of the upcoming OnePlus 6 has been leaked online. Read on for more details.
OnePlus 6 specifications sheet leaked online
Barely days after a leak claimed to shed light on the pricing of the next OnePlus flagship, has a new leak surfaced on the web today. According to the leaked OnePlus A6000 spec sheet, the smartphone is going to feature a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution, clearly suggesting the handset will indeed have an iPhone X style notch on the top. Powering the OnePlus 6 will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. While there is no mention of an 8GB RAM variant in the spec sheet, we are pretty sure OnePlus will certainly have an 8GB RAM variant available at launch. In the camera department, the leak claims the OnePlus 6 will have a 20MP + 16MP dual-camera setup at the back and a 20MP selfie snapper on the front. Fueling the internals of the upcoming flagship will be a 3450mAh battery. As for software, the OnePlus 6 will unsurprisingly run Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box.
Vivo V9 with iPhone X like notch launched in India at Rs.22,990
Vivo today launched its latest V series smartphone and successor to the V7 in India, dubbed the V9. As many of you might be aware by now, the Vivo V9 comes with a notch on the top of the display, just like Apple’s iPhone X. It features a 6.3-inch IPS FullView display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. While the V9 is a major upgrade over its predecessor in the display department, it is slightly disappointing when it comes to the core hardware inside. The Vivo V9 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset, which isn’t a huge improvement over the Snapdragon 450 powering the V7 and V7 Plus smartphones. The octa-core chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable further up to 256GB with a dedicated microSD card slot. Vivo V9 features a 16MP + 5MP dual-camera setup on the back and a 24MP selfie camera with AI Face Beauty feature on the front. Some of the other key features include a 3260mAh battery, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone is priced at Rs.22,990 and is now available for pre-order from Amazon.in, Flipkart, and all major offline stores.
