The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is set to launch in China on March 27. The smartphone will launch in India after a couple of months after its launch in China. There have been several leaks of the Mi Mix 2s in the past few months and below is what we know so far about the device.
Mi MIX 2s: Price in India
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is expected to launch in India with a price tag of Rs. 35,999, which is Rs. 3,000 higher than what the Mi Mix 2 is currently sold for. The Mi Mix 2s is expected to launch in two storage options – 128GB and 256GB. The 128GB storage variant will have 6GB of RAM, while the 256GB variant is going to feature 8GB of RAM. Upon the launch, the Mi Mix 2s will compete directly with the OnePlus 5T. There are also high chances that the OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 6, just after the launch of the Mi Mix 2s. If that is the case, the Mi Mix 2s will compete directly with the OnePlus 6.
Mi MIX 2s: Specifications, Features
Earlier this month, there were a few leaks that suggested that the device will have a notch for the camera the extreme left of its display. However, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s was recently teased in the Pacific Rim trailer, and the rumours about notch seem to be false. Like the previous model, the Mi Mix 2s will have the camera at the bottom of its display. The device is expected to sport an AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Full HD+ resolution, bezel-less design, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is rumoured to have a dual-camera setup, which seems true, as almost every competitor of the Mi Mix 2 already has a dual-camera setup. According to the recent leaks and rumours, the device will have a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup at the back along with dual-pixel autofocus, OIS, and dual-tone dual-LED flash. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s may also feature 4K video recording at 60FPS, as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC that the device is expected to come with supports 4K/60FPS video recording. The front-facing camera of the device is expected to be an 8-megapixel fixed focus unit with display flash.
As we’ve mentioned above, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is expected to come with Snapdragon 845 SoC. The chipset will be mated to 8GB of RAM. In China, the device is excepted to launch in 128GB and 256GB storage variants, but according to us, the device will only come with the 128GB storage option. The Mi Mix 2s will run on Android 8.0 Oreo customised with either MIUI 9.5 or MIUI 10. We reviewed the Mi Mix 2 and found the device to be fast performing; we expect the same from the Mi Mix 2s.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is expected to carry over the 3300mAh battery from its predecessor. However, there are also high amount of chances that the device will have a larger battery capacity, as the AMOLED display that the device is expected to come with will consume more power. The Mi Mix 2s is rumoured to have Quick Charge 4, courtesy of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
Mi MIX 2s: Is it worth the wait?
Considering the leaked specifications and features of the Mi Mix 2s, the device looks very promising. According to us, it will beat the OnePlus 5T. If you are planning on purchasing a smartphone under Rs. 40,000, you should definitely wait until the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s.
