As expected, the smartphone went Out of Stock soon after sale today at 12 PM. The Next Sale is on March 29. Honor 9 Lite: Price in India and offers

The Honor 9 Lite was launched in India on 17th January 2018 with a price of Rs. 10,999 for the 32GB storage variant, and Rs. 14,999 for the 64GB storage variant. The first sale of the device was held on 21st January 2018. The price of the device has remained the same since its launch in India.

Currently, Flipkart is offering 5% instant discount on the purchase of the Honor 9 Lite provided that the users make the payment through Axis Bank Buzz credit or debit cards. Also worth mentioning is that the maximum instant discount is capped at Rs. 200. Apart from the discount of Rs. 200, the device also comes with Rs. 2,200 discount from Jio. The discount will be offered as Jio vouchers.


Honor 9 Lite: Specifications and features

The Honor 9 Lite is has a metal frame with glass at the front and on the back. We’ve recently received the device for review. We’ve used the device and found it to be very comfortable in hand, and it is also very light to hold. The Honor 9 Lite has a 5.65-inch IPS LCD display. The display has 18:9 aspect ratio, Full HD+ resolution and bezel-less design.

The Honor 9 Lite packs an in-house developed Kirin 659 SoC. The Kirin 659 SoC has a similar amount of power as the Snapdragon 625 SoC, which is usually found in smartphones of this price category, The 32GB storage variant of the Honor 9 Lite has 3GB of RAM, and the 64GB storage variant has 4GB of RAM.

The Honor 9 Lite comes pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The OS is customised with EMUI 8.0. The EMUI 8.0 has many features over the stock Android, and many of them are actually very useful in the real world usage. Unlike the MIUI customisation, where there is no option to have an app drawer, the EMUI has an option to enable app drawer. The Honor 9 Lite comes filled with many proprietary applications and games.

The Honor 9 Lite has 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the back and on the front. The 13MP + 2MP primary camera has phase-detection autofocus and LED flash, whereas the 13MP + 2MP secondary camera is a fixed focus unit without an LED flash. Thanks to the dual-camera setup at the front and the back, the Honor 9 Lite can capture images with bokeh effect. The Honor 9 Lite can only record Full HD videos opposed to the 4K video recording in its competitors.

The Honor 9 Lite has a 3000mAh battery, which can charge at a rate of 10W. The device comes with two SIM card slots, where the second SIM slot doubles up as microSD card slot. The Honor 9 Lite has Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB port. The device also comes with a fingerprint scanner that is located below the primary camera.

Honor 9 Lite vs the competition

The Honor 9 Lite competes directly with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and the Xiaomi Redmi 5. The specifications and performance of the Honor 9 Lite and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 are neck to neck. We’ve reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and found it to be one of the best smartphones in its price range. However, we are yet to review the Honor 9 Lite smartphone fully.
