Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor has been a hit in the Indian smartphone market. With a slew of phones named to its success, the brand is yet again gearing up to add another smartphone to the lineup. The upcoming smartphone is dubbed as the Honor 7A. Let’s take a look at its expected launch date, leaked specifications, features, and pricing.
Honor 7A: Launch Date
Going by the reports that have been surfacing on the internet regarding the upcoming Honor 7A, the phone is expected to release on April 2. Several reports have also stated that the brand has already sent out media invites for the launch event. However, as is the case with every upcoming smartphone, the specs, features, and pricing of the Honor 7A have been leaked. The leaked specs hint that the Honor 7A would come with some nifty tweaks over its predecessor, the Honor 6A, especially concerning design.
Honor 7A: Leaked Specifications, Features
A report from Playfuldroid states that the media invite for the Honor 7A comes feature an image that hints at the presence of dual camera setup and face recognition technology on the phone. Moreover, the image also suggests that the phone could come with two speakers. Some other reports have tipped that the Honor 7A is going to be a mid-range smartphone with specs that could rival existing mid-range toppers from Xiaomi and others.
Besides, a report from Slashleaks suggests that the Honor 7A could come with a 5.7-inch HD+ display boasting 720×1440 pixels resolution. It is expected to come powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor, as seen on the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 that was launched recently. The Honor 7A is expected to feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, same as the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018.
Other details about the Honor 7A include camera specs, software, and battery capacity. The phone is expected to pack a 13MP+2MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It will measure 152.4x73x7.8mm and weigh 150 grams. A
3000mAh battery will be backing it. On the software front, the device is most likely to run Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out-of-the-box.
Basing our judgement on the claims that the Honor 7A shares lot many similarities with the Huawei Y7 Prime 2018, then we can expect it to be a Dual-SIM device. It should support connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and GPS/ A-GPS. The internal storage on the phone should be expandable via microSD while it shall also sport a fingerprint scanner, placed on the rear panel below the camera lens.
Other expected features on the Honor 7A include face unlock, split-screen mode, FullView display, and AR lens. And just like the Huawei Y7 Prime, the Honor 7A may also be available in Black, Blue, and Gold colour options. It should be noted that although Huawei launched the Y7 Prime 2018, it did not reveal the pricing and availability details for the device.
So, yeah, the company is putting in a lot of mystery concerning both the phones. We can expect the April 2 launch event to answer all our queries. Our best guess is that the Honor 7A could be a re-branded version of the Huawei Y7 Prime for other markets.
Honor 7A: Expected Price in India
As we mentioned at the beginning of the story, the phone is going to fall in the mid-range segment, it is expected to come with a price tag of CNY 1,499 (approximately Rs. 15,500). If Honor launches it in India, then it has got some serious competition to face from the existing mid-rangers like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the recently launched Oppo F7 and Vivo V9.
