After teasing the launch of the Meizu Pro 7 in India four months ago, Meizu has finally launched it in India. The company has introduced the smartphone in the Indian market nine months after it was released in China.

The Meizu Pro 7 features in a 5.2-inch screen, an outdated Helio P25 processor, 4GB of RAM, and the age-old Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. An interesting feature of this phone is that it features a secondary display at its rear which allows you to see things like notifications, time, weather, and even click selfies using the rear-facing camera.

Meizu Pro 7: Price In India, Availability

As of now, Meizu hasn’t revealed the release date or information on whether it will sell the phone through offline channels. However, it is confirmed that it will be sold through Amazon with a price tag of Rs. 22,999. The device will be available in a single colour: Black Hue. Given the price, the Meizu Pro 7 will compete with the likes of the Moto X4 and Asus Zenfone 3 in India.

Meizu Pro 7: Features

The Meizu Pro 7 sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full-HD resolution and a 2-inch secondary Super AMOLED screen at the rear with a resolution of 240×536 pixels. The device falls short of the competition, offering a screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and big bezels at the top and the bottom. The secondary display can be used to see notifications, weather, time, and to click selfies using the rear-facing camera.

The Pro 7 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 processor, consisting of a 2.5GHz octa-core  CPU and ARM Mali-T880 GPU. The processor is mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There’s no microSD card slot for storage expansion. On the software front, the Pro 7 runs an outdated version of Android – v7.0 (Nougat) – out of the box and it is customised with company’s Flyme user interface. Meizu Pro 7In terms of imaging, the Meizu Pro 7 features a 12MP dual-camera setup. One of those cameras uses a monochrome sensor, while the other uses an RGB sensor. Both the cameras feature ƒ/2.0 aperture, 1.25um pixel size, phase-detection autofocus, and they are accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash. At the front, the selfie capturing tasks are handled by a 16MP camera. The phone also has a fingerprint reader that is been embedded into the home button. Last but not least, the handset comes packed with a 3000mAh battery which supports mCharge fast charging.

Connectivity features include a dual-SIM card slot, and it supports 4G LTE as well as VoLTE calls. It also has dual-band gigabit Wi-Fi as well as Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.2. Apart from GPS, there’s a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio port.
