Update (4th April, 2018 @ 3:55PM): All the variants of the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro went out of stock on Flipkart after today’s flash sale. The Redmi Note 5 Pro went out of stock almost instantaneously, while the Redmi Note 5 was available to purchase for close to an hour.
Xiaomi’s carried forward its success legacy in India with its latest Android smartphones, the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Both the smartphones are arguably one of the best phones available in their segment. However, for the buyers, these two phones are a bit tough to own right away. Thanks to Xiaomi’s flash sale model, the demand for these devices puts them out of stock within seconds of the beginning of the sale. The flash sale model has become a point of frustration for the potential buyers as they are missing out on laying their hands on the devices.
Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro: Sale Today, Price in India
Today marks another sales day for both the phones on Flipkart. While there will be another flash sale for the devices on Xiaomi’s own website Mi.com, tomorrow, i.e. April 5. On both the websites, the sale is slated to go live at 12PM. Earlier, the flash sale used to happen simultaneously on Flipkart and Mi.com, but Xiaomi has now changed the process a but and now the sale will occur on both the websites on different days. This can be deemed as a wise move by Xiaomi as this will allow more users to participate in the flash sale. However, it must be noted that Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option is not available for purchasing these smartphones.

Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro: Specifications, Features
The Redmi Note 5 comes powered by Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, the same chipset was also present on the last year’s Redmi Note 5. It features 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage, based on the variants. It sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 apeture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). There is a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. The phone features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat based-MIUI 9, but is expected to receive the MIUI 9.5 soon. A 4000mAh battery backs the device but without Quick Charge support.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro, on the other hand, comes powered by a Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64 storage. It sports dual 12MP+5MP rear camera setup with phase-detection autofocus and LED flash, and a 20MP front-facing selfie camera. It also runs Android 7.1 Nougat based-MIUI 9 and will soon be upgraded to MIUI 9.5. A 4000mAh battery backs the Redmi Note 5 Pro and unlike the Redmi Note 5, it has support for Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging.

Currently, both the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro are geared with several offer. On Flipkart, the phones can be bought at an additional discount of 5% on Axis Bank Buzz Credit Cards. Then there is a Jio offer that provides a cashback worth Rs. 2,200 for Jio customers, but they need to recharge with Rs 198 or Rs. 299 per month to receive the cashback in the form of Rs.50 vouchers. There will be 44 such vouchers that Jio customers can avail over time. Lastly, on Xiaomi’s Mi.com, the buyers gets free 3-month subscription to Hungama Music.
Other than these offers, Xiaomi recently announced Mi Fan Festival in India. The festival offers additional discounts and other deals to the Mi Fans across the country. Under this festival, Xiaomi phone owners can get significant discounts on a range of Xiaomi products available for India.
