Oppo F7 vs Vivo V9 vs Moto G6 Play: Price in India, Features, Specifications Comparison


The smartphone wars of 2018 are well underway with all the major manufacturers having revealed the first of their models for the year. We have new releases from Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Nokia and upcoming releases for this month and the next as well. From Vivo, we saw the all-new Vivo V9, whereas Oppo released the Oppo F7. And rumours and leaks have been doing the rounds for the new Moto G6 Play, which is rumoured to be launched sometime next month. So we decided to take a quick look at the various specifications, features and other parameters of these three phones so we can decide which the best phone is. Let’s start off by comparing price tags.

Oppo F7 vs Vivo V9 vs Moto G6 Play: Price in India

The Vivo V9 made its debut in the last week of March 2018 and is currently priced at Rs. 22,990. The Oppo F7 was launched roughly around the same time and its base version is priced at Rs. 21,990, with a 128GB variant available if you shell out Rs. 5000 more. The Moto G6 Play is yet to get an official launch date but as mentioned earlier, it should make an appearance sometime in April or early May, based on leaks and rumours. We expect the Moto G6 Play to be priced at Rs. 14,000, approximately.

Oppo F7 vs Vivo V9 vs Moto G6 Play: Display

The Vivo V9 has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. It has a pixel density of 400 pixels per inch. The Oppo F7 is almost identical as it offers a resolution of 1080 x 2280 on its 6.23-inch display, with roughly the same pixel density. Both the Oppo F7 and the Vivo V9 have a notch at the top. The Moto G6 Play will sport a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 and a density of 282 pixels per inch. Between the three, the Oppo F7 and Moto G6 Play offer Gorilla Glass protection for the displays.

All three devices will run on Android Oreo, but while the Moto G6 Play will offer more of a stock experience, the VivoV9 and Oppo F7 run on their respective Android forks. While the V9 runs on FunTouch OS, the Oppo smartphone runs on ColorOS.

The Vivo V9 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8953-Pro Snapdragon 626 octa-core 2.2GHz processor, whereas the Oppo F7 is driven by its Mediatek Helio P60 octa-core (4×2.0GHz Cortex A73 + 4×2.0GHz Cortex A53). Comparatively, under the hood of the Motorola Moto G6 will be an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 chipset, clocking 1.4GHz.

In terms of RAM, both the Vivo V9 and Oppo F7 offer 4GB. They both offer 64GB of onboard storage as well. The Moto G6 Play, however, will offer 3GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal memory. All three phones support expandable memory up to 256GB.

The Vivo V9 is the only dual rear camera phone among the three, offering a 16MP+5MP combo so that you can shoot pictures with bokeh effects. Comparatively, the Oppo F7 comes with a 16MP f/1.8 shooter on the back, whereas the Moto G6 Play will be equipped with a 12MP primary camera. While the VivoV9 can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second, the F7 and G6 play can record full HD (1080p) videos at the same frame rate.

On the front, the V9 is equipped with a 24MP selfie camera, whereas the F7 has a 25MP front camera. The Moto G6 Play is rumoured to have a dual 5MP configuration on the front.

Of the three, the Vivo V9 is definitely the best option. It has a better processor, and better camera offerings as well. So if you ever need to choose between the Vivo V9, the Oppo F7 and the Moto G6 Play, go for the V9!
