HMD Global brought three new smartphones in India, yesterday. The three new Nokia phones to grace the Indian market are the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. All these three phones from Nokia are a part of the Android One programme, which means that they will be receiving continual updates. Under these three new phones, the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus belong to the mid-range segment while the Nokia 8 Sirocco is a flagship phone from the company.

The Nokia 6 (2018) is an upgraded version of the Nokia 6 that was launched in 2017. It is priced at Rs. 16,999 and comes in a single variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The Nokia 6 (2018) will go on sale all around India on April 6 via select retail outlets and the Nokia mobile shop. On the other hand, the Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs. 25,999 and will be up for sale via select retail outlets, Nokia mobile shop, and Amazon India laced with cashback offers and more. While the Nokia 8 Sirocco will retail at Rs. 49,999 and will be available via Flipkart, Nokia mobile shop, and select offline stores. The pre-bookings for the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco will start from April 20 and will go on sale on April 30. Concerning display, the Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. While the Nokia 7 Plus packs a 6-inch full-HD+ IPS display with 1080×2160 pixels resolution, an 18:9 aspect ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Coming to the performance and battery on the three phones, the Nokia 6 (2018) is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3000mAh battery, which is touted by the company to deliver up to 16 hours of talk time, and up to 507 hours of standby time.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB). It runs Android 8.0 Oreo, and a 3800mAh battery backs the phone with support for fast charging, which is claimed to offer a talk time up 19 hours and a standby time of 723 hours.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable inbuilt storage. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3260mAh battery geared with fast charging and Qi wireless charging support.

In the imaging segment, the Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 16MP rear camera with Zeiss optics, dual-tone LED flash PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 1-micron pixels. On the front, it features an 8MP fixed focus camera with a f/2.0 aperture, and 1.12-micron pixels. For connectivity, it supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v2.0), Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes with 12MP+13MP dual rear camera setup, with the first lens boasting a f/1.75 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels while the second lens settles for a f/2.6 aperture, 1-micron pixels, and 2x optical zoom. The rear camera setup also features dual-tone LED flash. On the front, the phone packs in a 16MP fixed focus camera with Zeiss optics, f/2.0 aperture, and 1-micron pixels. On the connectivity front, the Nokia 7 Plus supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C (2.0).

The Nokia 8 Sirocco also sports 12MP+13MP dual rear camera setup like the Nokia 7 Plus. The 12MP primary sensor on the Nokia 8 Sirocco is a wide-angle one with a f/1.75 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels. The 13MP secondary sensor is a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a f/2.6 aperture, and 1-micron pixels. There is a dual-tone LED flash on the back with Zeiss optics. There is a 5MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus lens, and 1.4-micron pixels. Connectivity options on the Nokia 8 Sirocco include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, and GPS/ A-GPS.
