Google Home Mini: Specifications, Features

The Google Home Mini is a compact smart speaker that is almost entirely enclosed in custom fabric and features a non-skid silicone base. Available in Chalk and Charcoal color options, the smart speaker comes with four LED lights underneath the fabric that will light up whenever it hears you or when it is thinking. Equipped with far-field microphones, the Google Home Mini can hear you even when you have music playing in your home or there is some loud noise in the background. With the Google Assistant built-in, the Home Mini is capable of answering your questions, playing music, manage everyday tasks, set up reminders, translate phrases, and also control your smart home devices. Even though the Home Mini only has a single 40-mm driver, its circular design makes it possible to project 360-degree sound. If you want a more powerful sound, the Google Home Mini can be paired with other Bluetooth speakers in your house. While it doesn’t have any buttons, you can adjust the volume simply by tapping the sides of the smart speaker. Tapping on the left side will lower the volume while tapping on the right side will increase the volume. To turn off the microphone, you can simply flip the switch near the power port.

The Google Home Mini has a diameter of 98mm and a 42mm height. In terms of weight, the smart speaker weighs in at 173 grams. Supported audio formats include HE-AAC, LC-AAC+, MP3, Vorbis, WAV (LPCM), and FLAC. Connectivity-wise, the Google Home Mini includes onboard Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1 input support, and Chromecast + Chromecast Audio built-in. The smart speaker is compatible with Android devices running version 4.4 or higher and iOS devices running version 9.1 or higher.
