Airtel Launches 300Mbps Broadband Plan With 1200GB Data and 1 Year Amazon Prime Subscription


In a bid to establish its niche in the broadband segment, Airtel has introduced a new broadband plan with 300Mbps speeds. The plan is named as Fiber-To-the-Home (FTTH) is priced at Rs. 2,199 plus taxes for one month, offering 1200GB data. Besides, users of this plan also get unlimited STD/Local calling. On its website, Airtel mentions that users on this plan also receive a bonus data of 1000GB, which is valid until October 31, 2018. Users also have an option to roll over the month’s remaining data to the next month. However, one of the major offerings on the plan turns out to be the free Amazon Prime subscription for a year. Airtel 300Mbps Broadband Plan: Free Amazon Prime Subscription and How To Avail It

The deal offered by Airtel includes free Amazon Prime subscription for a year, which gives access to prime videos, prime music and prime deliveries.

After opting for the new plan, users can claim Amazon Prime membership by downloading the Airtel TV app from the App Store or the Google Play Store. They will then need to open the app and tap on Airtel – Amazon digital card, which will then redirect them to Amazon Prime registration form asking for details such as phone number and password setting. After completing registration, users can install Amazon’s Prime Video and Prime Music app to start enjoying free music and video streaming on their devices.

While Airtel offer broadband services in 89 cities across the country, the FTTH plan seems to be limited to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, Gurgaon, and Hyderabad, for now. In addition to Prime subscription, Airtel also offer free access to its Wynk music and Airtel TV app.

In a statement, Airtel’s CEO, George Mathen stated that the company launched the new FTTH plans after tasting success for the V-Fiber home broadband. He also asserted that in-home broadband is still one of the more preferred modes by users and the average usage per home is following an upward trend. Mathen further hinted on Airtel’s plan of expanding the FTTH plan and offering more plans under it to suit varied budget segments.

Airtel 300Mbps Broadband Plan: No Additional Cost For Existing Airtel Broadband Users Who Upgrade to V-Fiber

Airtel’s V-Fiber allows users to connect up to 10 devices with the free Wi-Fi Modem that is offered at no additional cost. If you are already on Airtel broadband with 100Mbps speeds, then you can upgrade to the V-Fiber 300 Mbps broadband at no extra cost. Airtel has also confirmed that it will not increase monthly pricing for the existing Airtel broadband users who upgrade to the latest V-Fiber plan.

To recall, Airtel launched the 1000GB of extra data offer for its broadband users in May 2017 binding it with a validity period until March 2018. But now the company has extended that offer and will now make it last until October 2018.
