As most of you might be aware, Huawei is set to launch two new P20 series smartphones in India today – P20 Pro and P20 Lite. The P20 Pro, P20 Lite, and P20 smartphones were made official last month in Europe. Hours before the launch event, the India pricing of the P20 Lite has been leaked online, courtesy of Twitter user @IshanAgarwal24. Both the P20 Pro and P20 Lite will be available in India exclusively via Amazon India.
Huawei P20 Lite: Price Leaked Ahead of Launch
The Huawei P20 Lite will be formally launched in India later today, alongside the company’s current flagship smartphone, the P20 Pro. Ahead of the launch event, Twitter user @IshanAgarwal24, who seems to be on a roll lately, has found a promo image on the Amazon India website that reveals the P20 Lite’s India pricing. Surprisingly, the P20 Lite is going to be priced at Rs.19,999 in India, significantly lower than its European pricing. At Rs.19,999, the Huawei P20 Lite will take on the Vivo V9 and OPPO F7, two other smartphones that feature a notch on the top.We were expecting the smartphone to be priced somewhere between the Rs.25k – 30k mark in India, so we are pleasantly surprised by the pricing. While the Huawei P20 Pro’s India pricing is yet to be revealed, we are now hopeful of the flagship smartphone being aggressively priced as well.
Huawei P20 Lite: Specifications, Features
The Huawei P20 Lite comes with a 5.84-inch LTPS IPS LCD FullView display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch. As you can see in the image above, the Huawei P20 Lite features a small notch on the top, similar to the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones.
The mid-range smartphone is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset clocked at up to 2.36 GHz with a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. In terms of memory, the variant expected to be launched in India will include 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of onboard storage. The P20 Lite uses a Hybrid Dual SIM configuration, so expanding the storage wouldn’t be simple for those of you who have use two SIM cards.
On the imaging front, Huawei P20 Lite is equipped with a 16MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back with dedicated bokeh lens and wide aperture mode. When it comes to video, the P20 Lite is only capable of Full HD video recording at 30fps. The smartphone’s fingerprint sensor is also placed on the rear, unlike the P20 Pro. For selfies, the smartphone features a 24MP resolution front-facing camera with 3D Portrait Lighting. You also get to choose from various augmented reality (AR) stickers that you can add to your photos to give them a unique touch.
Connectivity-wise, the Huawei P20 Lite supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g//n/a/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy with aptXTM, aptXTM HD, NFC, USB Type-C port, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. Keeping the lights on is a 3000mAh non-removable battery with a claimed standby time of up to 454 hours and talk time of up to 17 hours on a 3G network. The smartphone does come with fast charging support as well. In terms of physical size, the Huawei P20 Lite measures 148.6 x 71.2 x 7.4mm and weighs in at 145 grams. In Europe, the Huawei P20 Lite is available in four colors – Midnight Black, Klein Blue, Sakura Pink, and Platinum Gold.
Huawei P20 Lite: Software
In terms of software, the Huawei P20 Lite runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 custom interface running on top. Huawei claims the P20 Lite will not slow down over time like some of its rivals. EMUI 8.0 includes various exciting features such as intelligent photographic algorithms, Microsoft Translator, AI-driven hints and tips, Multi-windows feature, multi-column view, floating dock, live wallpapers, and more.
