Nokia X6 Leak Ahead of April 27 Launch, Tipped To Feature 5.8-inch Display with iPhone X like Notch

HMD Global is gearing up to bring out two new smartphones this month in its Nokia X-series. Both the smartphones in the lineup will come out of the veil on April 27, 2018. Thanks to the previous leaks surrounding the Nokia X lineup, we knew that the launch date would be April 27 and the rumours have ultimately prevailed. In this post, we will talk about the expected pricing for the Nokia X6 along with their leaked specs and features.

Nokia X6: Launch Date, Expected Price in India

According to the reports and the latest confirmation made by the company itself, the Nokia X6 is all set to be unveiled on April 27, 2018, i.e. tomorrow. The pricing of the phone is expected to be CNY 1599 (approx. Rs. 16,800) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, and CNY 1799 (approx. Rs. 19,000) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. A report from GizChina suggests that the launch event for the Nokia X6 will be held in China. The press renders of the Nokia X6 have surfaced just a day before its launch.

Nokia X6: iPhone X-Like Design With Notch

One of the key features revealed in the leaks of the Nokia X6 is that it will come with an iPhone X-like design. The phone could have a notch on top of the front panel. Even the leaked renders of the phone have hinted at the presence of the notch design. The rear panel of the smartphone looks almost identical to the recently launched Nokia 7 Plus.

The rear panel of the phone houses a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor placed in a circular module. The only difference between the back panel of the Nokia 7 Plus and the upcoming Nokia X6 seems to be the LED flash placement; it is placed to the right of the camera on the former while the latter has it between the camera and the fingerprint scanner.

Nokia X6: Rumoured Specifications and Features

The specifications and features of the upcoming Nokia X6 have surfaced on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. According to the details listed on the website, the Nokia X6 could debut with a 5.8-inch full-HD+ display bearing 1080×2280 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Although the display is almost bezel-less, at the bottom, it shows some bezels with Nokia logo on the right. Concerning the back panel of the device, as we already mentioned above, it is quite similar to the Nokia 7 Plus with dual camera setup and copper accents. But it features an LED flash below the camera setup, unlike the Nokia 7 Plus.

In terms of hardware, the Nokia X6 is expected to come in two variants featuring Snapdragon 636 and MediaTek P60 processors, respectively. In the imaging segment, the smartphone could sport 12MP+12MP dual camera setup on the rear with Carl Zeiss lenses. For software, it will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.

The Snapdragon 636 model could feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the MediaTek Helio P60 variant will make do with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Except for the difference in RAM, storage, and chipsets, both the variants of the Nokia X6 will share the same design, display, software and camera specifications.

Besides, some past rumours had hinted that the Nokia X series could settle for a 10W charge, which means that the Nokia X6 might come without support for fast charging.

As of now, we cannot be sure that HMD Global will launch the Nokia X6 in the Indian market. If it ultimately brings it to the Indian shores, the phone is set to face stiff competition from other popular brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, and others.
