OnePlus 6: Leaked Specifications, Features

The OnePlus 6, as confirmed by the company, is going to feature a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with a notch on the top, giving it a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. While the display has grown in size compared to the OnePlus 5 and 5T, the company isn’t ready to make a jump to Quad HD+ resolution just yet. The OnePlus 6 will sport a 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

Powering the OnePlus 6 will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 10nm octa-core chipset, the same chip that powers the majority of Android flagship smartphones announced so far this year. In the memory department, the OnePlus 6 is expected to come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, just like the OnePlus 5 and 5T. However, in addition to the 6GB RAM + 64GB and 8GB RAM + 128GB variants, the company is rumored to launch an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant as well this year. However, it remains unconfirmed if OnePlus has any intentions of bringing the 256GB variant to our shores.

Moving on to imaging, the OnePlus 6 is rumored to feature an improved 16MP + 20MP dual-camera setup at the back. While more specific details aren’t available currently, rumors do suggest that the OnePlus 6 dual-lens camera system boasts significantly improved image quality when compared to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. On the front of the handset could be a 16-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls. Connectivity-wise, the OnePlus 6 will likely be identical to most other flagship smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. We expect to see support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, and 4G VoLTE. Fueling the internals of the smartphone could be a 3450mAh capacity battery with Dash Charge 2.0 fast charging support, a slight upgrade in terms of capacity over the 3300mAh unit inside the OnePlus 5T. On the software front, the OnePlus 6 is expected to run on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with the manufacturer’s OxygenOS customization on top.
