Coolpad has released a new budget smartphone named Coolpad Note 6 exclusively for India. This is the latest smartphone to come out from the Chinese manufacturer’s stable. Recently, the company had also released the Coolpad Cool 2 in China, which was a successor to the Cool 1 and a first after LeEco bought majority stakes in the company. The Note 6 will be available via offline channels only and can be purchased at over 300 stores across India.
Coolpad Note 6 – Specifications
The Coolpad Note 6 packs quite a bit of hardware for the price. It comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD display protected by 2.5D curved glass. The phone uses an octa-core Snapdragon 435 chipset that’s clocked at 1.4GHz and is coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes with either 32GB or 64GB of storage and also includes a microSD expansion slot.
The stand-out feature of this phone is the dual-camera setup at the front for selfies. Yes, it is aimed at buyers who love taking selfies. On the front, the phone has an 8MP sensor and another 5MP sensor. The secondary sensor has a 120-degree field of view and you also get a flash. At the back is a single 13MP unit with a f/2.2 aperture. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor at the front and is available in Gold and Grey colour options. As for the battery, a 4070mAh unit is included, but there is no fast charging support. It has 4G VoLTE support, a microUSB port for charging and data transfers, and dual-SIM slots. The software on the phone is slightly outdated, as it runs Android 7.1 Nougat.
Coolpad Note 6: Price in India, Availability
Coolpad Note 6 will be up for sale at a starting price of Rs. 8,999 for 32GB storage variant in India. The 64GB storage version will cost you Rs. 9,999. As we mentioned earlier, the Coolpad Note 6 will be exclusive to offline stores. It will be available for purchase in Delhi NCR, Telangana, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra only.
At the launch, the company also stated that they will be releasing more aggressively priced smartphones in the coming months.
