Users can check if they have received the update by browsing to Settings > About Phone > Software Update. In case your device hasn’t prompted to already install the update, it can be done here.
The update comes amidst a busy period for the smartphone maker, which has been rolling out the Android Oreo 8.0 update to a flurry of its smartphones. Although no official announcements had been made regarding the rollout of the update for the Z2 Play, it still got the update much sooner than the other phones. It was probably due to the fact that towards the end of last year Motorola had released a list of their smartphones that are due to receive the Oreo update and the Z2 Play had featured in it. Moreover, it was only last month that the Z2 Play’s predecessor, the Z2 had received the Oreo update.
The Lenovo owned smartphone maker, Motorola, has released the Z2 Play last year in India starting at a price of Rs. 19,990. The smartphone features a 12MP rear camera with dual LED flash and the front features a 5MP camera with a flash. The display is 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phones comes with two variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage.
