MSI Radeon RX MECH 2

MSI has announced two new Radeon RX MECH 2 series graphics cards – Radeon RX 580 MECH 2 and Radeon RX570 MECH 2. Based on the AMD “Polaris”, the two new cards feature a new thermal design that the company claims allows them to deliver superior gaming performance.

AMD Radeon has always been committed to the best interest of gamers: a dedication to open innovation such as our contributions to the DirectX and Vulkan APIs, a commitment to true transparency through industry standards like Radeon FreeSync technology, and a desire to expand the PC gaming ecosystem by enabling developers everywhere. It is these values that result in a thriving PC gaming community, and explain why so many gamers continue to rally behind the AMD Radeon brand,” said Scott Herkelman, vice president and general manager, AMD Radeon Technologies Group.

MSI Radeon RX 570 / RX 580 MECH 2 Graphics Cards: Price, Availability

While MSI hasn’t announced pricing info for the two cards just yet, it did say in a press release that the models will be available in stores worldwide around the end of July this year.

MSI Radeon RX 570 / RX 580 MECH 2 Graphics Cards: Features, Specifications

The brand new MSI RX MECH 2 series graphics cards are based on AMD’s Polaris chipsets. Both the MSI Radeon RX 570 and RX 580 MECH 2 graphics cards come with a new thermal design, allowing for higher core and memory speeds. However, MSI hasn’t specified the exact clock speeds just yet. We expect the company to confirm the specifications of both cards closer to the release date. Both cards utilize the TORX Fan 2.0 version of the company’s patented TORX Fan technology, which is said to generate 22% more air pressure for superior cooling performance with reduced noise levels. The heatsink is connected to 6mm thick copper heat pipes with a squared bottom to facilitate optimum heat transfer from the solid nickel-plated copper baseplate. The Airflow Control technology gets more air directly onto to the heat pipes, while the special deflectors on the heat sink help in enlarging the surface area, providing lower temperatures and better gaming performance.

For now, the company has revealed that the cards will have a fiery red piercing through the cover, with MSI dragon RGB LED illumination on the top. Consumers will be able to choose from 16.7 million color options to match their mood or sync the lighting with other RGB LED-equipped components in their build. To add greater structural strength to the cards, the MECH 2 cards feature a matte black backplate.
