Mere days after launching the Rs. 118 prepaid recharge pack to directly rival competing packs from Jio, BSNL is back to challenge the market with another attractive data pack. This time, the state-run telco has come up with a new ‘Data Tsunami’ pack to entice customers with mobile internet access at a very attractive rate. However, it is worth mentioning that this pack will only be providing 2G/3G speeds across the country since Kerela is currently the only state to possess 4G BSNL network.
BSNL Data Tsunami Data Pack at Rs. 2.51 per GB
The new ‘Data Tsunami’ pack from BSNL is exclusively a data pack. This means that there are no other additional benefits that are coupled with this recharge plan. With that said, this is still one of the cheapest data pack when looking at it from a per GB standpoint. When put together, the prepaid plan is offering a total of 39GB of 2G/3G data to customers. This plan comes with a validity of 26 days.
“BSNL provides efficient services at cheaper rates as per requirement of customers. This is a pure data STV which provides at a very economic rate at Rs. 2.51 per GB,” said RK Mittal, Director (CM), BSNL Board, in a press statement.
BSNL Rs. 98 vs Jio, Vodafone, Airtel Prepaid Plans
The closest 1.5GB data per day recharge plan that Reliance Jio offers to its customers is priced at Rs. 149 and comes with a validity of 28 days. This effectively costs Rs. 3.5 per GB. Among a plethora of data packs to choose from, Vodafone also has a Rs.149 data plan that offers 1.5GB of 4G/3G/2G data for 28 days. However, Jio’s recharge plan happens come with additional benefits for customers. It provides free voice calls, 100 SMS per day, complimentary subscription to Jio apps, and the 1.5GB 4G data per day where data speed shifts to 64kbps after the FUP is exhausted.
